Captain: Steve Hubbard

Background

Steve was born in 1962 and spent his formative years in Alliston, the potato capital of Ontario, Canada. He graduated university with a degree in economics and went on to become an engineer in nuclear power plants. He spent 2 years sailing his own 30 foot sailboat throughout the Caribbean with his future wife Gillian. He has been working on yachts for 15 years now and has over 80,000 ocean miles under his belt. Cruising grounds  include Oman, Red Sea, Suez Canal, Mediterranean, Black Sea, Great Lakes, US East Coast, Caribbean, and 6 Atlantic crossings.

Engineer: Terry Clarke

Background

Terry was born in Colchester England. From a very young age was always taking things apart to find out how they worked to his parents despair. By the age of 16 he had already rebuilt his first car engine. Terry went to school in a small village called Coggeshall and then Braintree College where he acquired a city and glides in engineering. Terry is a fully trained Mercedes Benz’s technician as well as a Lloyd’s coded welder and fabricator and vehicle security specialist . While on vacation in CancunMexico he discovered his love for the sea after completing his open water diving and chose to work on yachts as a chief engineer where he could combine his skills with his hobbies.

Hobbies and Interests

One of Terry’s main hobbies is diving and he is currently a paddy certified rescue diver. Terry also enjoys playing pool and snooker and always enjoys traveling and meeting new people.

Favorite places traveled

Terry’s favorite place he has traveled is Thailand followed by south Florida and the Bahamas and Dubai

Terry’s favorite food will always be a good steak.

Chef: Paul Michael Silverthorn

Background

Always had a passion for food, even at an early age.  Raised with an Italian nanny, then started cooking for all of my family from about age 9.  Took my first professional cooking course at age 12.  Decided to become a chef while overseas in Venezuela as a rotary exchange student and staying with a family who owned and operated a restaurant.  3 year apprenticeship at the Westin Resort and Spa in Whistler, Canada: under a Swiss executive chef and French Sous Chefs. Operated my own catering company for 1.5 years, then moved onto yachts and private villas, predominantly freelancing.  Now happy to be onboard MY Indigo and explore new and exciting places and flavours.

Hobbies and Interests

Reading, travelling, dancing, music, studying cultures and ethnic cuisines.

Chief Stewardess: Gillian Corelli

Background

After a successful career as a manager for a large food service corporation in Toronto she left to join Steve on a great adventure sailing from Florida throughout the Caribbean down to Trinidad on his 30 foot sailboat. Afterwards she headed to Florida for training and has been a professional stewardess for the past 15 years. The places she has travelled include the Great Lakes, East Coast US, Caribbean, Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, Suez Canal, Egypt, Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Oman as well as 4 Transatlantic passages. She looks forward to new adventures on Indigo.

Hobbies and Interests

Hobbies: Anything crafty.
Interests: Exploring new places, bike riding, shopping. She loves dogs.

Thailand, Italy, and of course Canada to visit family and friends.

Favorite Food

Asian, seafood, and a good  steak once in a while. She will never refuse salads.

Deckie: Cheryl Randall

Background

Cheryl was born in Surrey, England, and after studying law at the University of Oxford, she spent four years working as a lawyer at a top London law firm. Cheryl traded in her suit & heels for sun tan lotion and flip flops and spent a year and a half travelling around Australia before joining Indigo. Cheryl is stoked to have completed her first transatlantic passage with Indigo and is looking forward to future adventures onboard.

Hobbies and Interests

Cheryl loves watersports and got her PADI certificate diving in the Red Sea. Cheryl has her Private Pilots Licence and has flown in San Diego, Scotland and England. Her extensive travels have given her some amazing experiences, including trekking in search of orang-utans in Borneo, taking a dawn hot air balloon over the Serengeti and wandering around the Galapagos Islands.

Gorge trekking in Karijini, Western Australia, free diving in Caye Caulker, Belize, wandering the ruins in Tikal, Guatemala, bamboo rafting in Yangshuo, China, lazing on the beach in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
