Indigo in Buenos Aires: Christmas – Dec 25, 2006

Well, today is Christmas and here we are in Buenos Aires–sure never thought I would be here and certainly not on Christmas Day.  Geraldine and I prepared Christmas dinner for the Phillips family and for the crew.  Of course, we had turkey but that was only the beginning.  Geraldine named it “A Global Christmas Menu” and she took suggestions from everyone.  We really enjoyed the homemade eggnog though we decided it’s a lot easier to just buy it from Publix.  The entrees included turkey, baked sea-salted potatoes, garlic-chive potato puree, baked spice-scented pumpkin (really good!) bruschetta bake of sweetened tomato, onion and ciabatta, honey marinated carrots , steamed green vegetables and meatball stuffed tomatos.  For dessert, we had pumpkin pie and dulce de leche empanadas and butterscotch pudding with vanilla ice cream.  It was all delicious and of course, we all needed a nap after that.  A good time was had by all.

Grant and the two Kyles and Captain Toby went to play pool at TGIFriday’s (yes, there’s one here) but I’m not sure they were real successful finding a good table.  Phil and I had a light dinner at a waterside cafe–just empanadas and coffee–we were still full from lunch.  Grant went out again but came home about 2AM.  I think we woke him up too early today!
